How we keep proof honest: the four trust lanes
Every answer your child meets falls into one of four lanes — and they never share a bucket. Whizbee never shows you mastery your child didn’t earn, so the word “learned” on your dashboard always means something.
Lane 1 · Core learning — truly masterable
Curated, canonical topics (volcanoes, orbit, 7×8, grammar). Your child can genuinely master these — and only by explaining it back in their own words, which we check. When you see “learned,” it was earned.
Lane 2 · Generated practice — honestly labeled
Rarer topics Whizbee builds on the fly are clearly marked as practice or exploration, never as “mastered.” A guess is never dressed up as an achievement.
Lane 3 · Timely topics — kept apart from mastery
Open-ended exploration can touch things that change with the news or the season. Whizbee does not treat those moments as permanent “learned” proof on your dashboard — only stable, curated material earns that label.
Lane 4 · Sensitive topics — support, not a quiz
If a child raises something heavy — fear, sadness, danger — Whizbee responds with calm support and the idea of a trusted grown-up. It is never turned into a quiz, never logged as progress, never cached.
Frequently asked questions
Does Whizbee use scores, streaks, or rewards?
No. There are no points, streaks, badges, or leaderboards. The product is built for calm focus and genuine thinking, not for maximising screen time through engagement loops. The absence of those mechanics is deliberate — it’s one of the core promises.
What does my child’s “proof of learning” actually mean?
It means your child demonstrated understanding — typically by explaining an idea back in their own words, which is checked on the server. Proof is reserved for genuinely learned, curated material. Practice, exploration, and one-off lookups are labeled as such, never as “mastered.”
Could Whizbee ever show something as “learned” when my child didn’t learn it?
No — that’s the line we won’t cross. Whizbee separates what a child masters from what they merely practised, explored, or looked up. Generated practice is never shown as mastery, and sensitive or safety topics are never counted as progress at all.
Do you sell my child’s data or show ads?
No. Whizbee runs in a closed environment with no open web and no advertising, a child signs in with a Magic PIN (no email to collect), and children’s data is never sold. The product is designed to be COPPA- and GDPR-conscious from the start.
